The Caribbean festival has run annually since the year 1967, initially, it was a gift from Canada’s West Indian community as a tribute to 100 years celebration of Canada’s Confederation it was a year long festival back then. The Caribbean festival is a heart throbbing festival which was introduced by immigrants from Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, St. Lucia, Barbados, and Grenada and so on in Canada.

The Caribbean festival is huge festival attracting people from all over the world. It gathers a huge crowd with all over the attendance of 2 million people. It is a festival of Caribbean culture and traditions held each summer in the city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is a Caribbean Carnival event that has been billed as North America’s largest street festival. It is a grand event of two weeks with series of festivals.

The starting of the festival itself is very exciting. The parade brings colours, joy and rhythm in the city of Toronto. The parade never disappoints you it brings a lot of heat to the city of Toronto. Being the 48th anniversary of the festival, it is bigger than ever with a lot of festivals and also boat rides. The food is exotic with a lot of flavours.

The Enterprise 2000 Cruise Line  is going to conduct various adventurous boat rides like was Wednesday, Carnival vibes, Wicked in Whited HD, Sunnyside up Breakfast. These boat rides are going to be very interesting lasting for a period of about four hours.

There are also a lot of family events which are going to take place in the Caribana events which make it a great spot for a family picnic as every parent wishes for a safe and recreational picnic for their child.

The Annual Gala

The Annual Caribbean Gala is a great celebration of music and art. It is a great point of attraction for music, dance and art lovers. The formal event of dinner followed by dance brings together the entertainment lovers in the city of Toronto. It gives a chance to mingle with industry enthusiasts. This turns out to be a very important event.

International Calypso

International calypso superstar David Rudder and Aaron Duncan, Junior Calypso Monarch of Trinidad & Tobago will headline with Canada’s leading calypso performers. This is a family friendly event.

The King and Queen Competition

The King and Queen Show have traditionally kicked off the Toronto Caribbean Carnival weekend every year since the beginning. The leaders of Caribbean Mass bands will put on their showcase costumes and perform for the Parade judges and an enthusiastic crowd. All the participants’ i.e. males and females are judged on the basis of their costumes.  At the end of the night, the King and Queen are crowned. This event is a great attraction for a lot of tourists as they like to see the vivid costumes and makeup and how magically they walk on the ramp.

Carnival Island

Carnival Island is a proper fusion of carnival cuisine one can expect award winning plates from across the place it will bring sensation in your mouth buds and will present you with mouth watering food. Expect to hear everything from Calypso; Soca dances music to Chutney. End the exciting weekend on a high note with this family friendly event.

Various other events except for those mentioned above also takes place in this festival like food events and We Ting Blocko. At the end of the event, a closing parade is conducted finally ending the event.
